Dawn Quigley, Ph.D. and citizen of the Turtle Mountain Band of Ojibwe, ND, is an assistant professor in the Education Department at St. Catherine University. She taught English and reading for 18+ years in the K-12 schools along with being an Indian Education program co-director. In addition to her debut coming-of-age Young Adult novel, Apple in the Middle (NDSU Press), Dawn has over 28 published articles, essays and poems. Dawn lives in Minnesota with her family.

A graduate of Hampton University, Dr. Shaun Woodly obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 2004, Master’s degree in 2005, followed by his Ph.D. is 2014. Dr. Woodly has dedicated his professional career to education. He is a decorated K-12 teacher, University professor and author whose deep passion and research have allowed him great success as an educator and entrepreneur. Dr. Woodly has received multiple honors including being named teacher of the year, receiving a district inspiration award, and several commendations of distinction for outstanding teaching and leadership. He is the architect behind the educator movement “Teach Hustle Inspire”, and has written the best-selling book “MC Means Move the Class: How to Spark Engagement and Motivation in Urban and Culturally Diverse Classrooms”. His session is titled: How to Spark Engagement and Motivation in Urban and Culturally Diverse Schools Each day in the classroom, it is all about getting the students from where they are to where they need to be. When it comes to teaching learners from diverse backgrounds, we understand there’s a disconnect somewhere - but how do we solve this issue? Dr. Woodly offers strategies educators can put in place to transform learning objectives into genuinely interesting and engaging experiences by making learning culturally responsive, relevant and fun!

Patrick Camangian is an associate professor in the Teacher Education Department at the University of San Francisco. He has been an English teacher since 1999, beginning in the Los Angeles Unified School District where he was awarded "Most Inspirational Teacher" by former mayor Richard Riordan and the school's student body. Professor Camangian currently volunteers in the Oakland Unified School District teaching English. He has collaborated with groups such as California's People’s Education Movement, the Education for Liberation national network, and San Francisco's Teachers 4 Social Justice.
