ALER Literacy Teacher Education Research Grant

The call for the 2018 grant will be available in May; please check back. 

Beginning in 2014, the Association of Literacy Educators and Researchers will offer the ALER Research Grants for $3000 will be awarded for promising research that addresses significant questions in literacy. Eligible studies may be carried out using any research method or approach as long as the focus of the project is on literacy. Applicants must:
• Be a member of the Association of Literacy Educators and Researchers
• Be a full-time faculty member at a college or university
• Have a doctorate degree or its equivalent

The ALER Research Grant was presented by Drs. Leslie La Croix and Michael Manderino.

The winner of the 2017 Grant was: Dr. Jody Polleck.

This peer reviewed process awarded the grant to Dr. Jody Polleck of Hunter College for her work titled "Creating and Sustaining Culturally Responsive Literacy Classrooms within Alternative Settings".
